Thyestes' Feast
Written and directed by Paul Macklin and featuring Christopher Keddie, Lisa Wakely and Ian Willingham, Thyestes' Feast is about Roger (Willingham) and Jane (Wakely) - a Greek mythology advisor and his advertiser wife visiting their neighbour Sid (Keddie) to make amends after a previous altercation involving flowers.

It's been an absolute honour to be able to help turn Thyestes' Feast from a theatre production into a short film.
Being asked to be cinematographer on the film and having not seen the play but read the script I knew I wanted to shoot it a bit odd looking.
I used an old Canon TV camera lens to shoot the whole film, initially not realising just how much chromatic aberrations and fringing it would cause when at it's widest setting but as the editing process went on, I grew to like it more and think it fit the quirkiness of the film overall, although I did edit out some of it when it was a bit too strong. If you're looking for old B4 TV lenses - be wary of this.
I don't want to spoil it or give too much away already but here's a still of Roger and Jane.

The whole shoot took place in one location, with completely natural lighting - which I am a really big fan of.
One last wide shot showing some of the edge of lens blurring that I grew to like.
